Molded non-skid decks along with fiberglass window frames/doors and stainless steel handrails allow for more cruising time and less maintaenance. Still the DeFever has enough exterior teak trim to show her true trawler heritage.

As with many of Arthur DeFever designed hulls the 50 Cockpit has a fine entry and deep forefoot.

The solid fiberglass hull is hand laid and below is a full enough keel which provides protection to the heavy duty runing gear. All of these attributes make for an excellent offshore, long-range cruising yacht.
